You're going to love the story behind Sabrina Carpenter's hair a latte.
The "Espresso" singer recently revealed how her signature curtain bangs took shape after she experienced a transformative period in her life.
"I literally cut my bangs 'cause someone broke my heart and I was just like, 'I have to do something,'" Sabrina told Vanity Fair in a video published June 20. "I'm not usually one of those people that has to make rash decisions when their feelings are hurt but that was my first real heartbreak and so I guess it just sparked that initial like, 'I have to do something different.'"
And although the 25-year-old wasn't afraid to make a drastic transformation, she did draw the line when it came to changing her natural roots.
"I never wanted to dye my hair," she continued, "because I always felt comfortable as blonde—the way I was born."
While Sabrina didn't go into detail about who broke her heart, her style switch up took place around the time she and former High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star, Joshua Bassett, announced they were both single in 2021.
The two never publicly confirmed they were in a relationship, however, they sparked dating rumors in 2020 after fellow cast mate Olivia Rodrigo released her breakout single "Driver's License," which fans believed was about her ex-Joshua and Sabrina.
Of course, the former Disney Channel actress has moved on from her past heartbreak, as she's been dating Saltburn star Barry Keoghan late last year. In fact, the couple put their romance on display at the 2024 Met Gala, where they made their red carpet debut.
The duo even took their romance to the small screen after Barry starred in Sabrina's June 6 music video for "Please Please Please." The same day as the release, Barry posted several steamy behind-the-scenes snaps, captioning the his Instagram, "What we sayin Darlin?!!"
Sabrina replied with a cheeky reference her song's lyrics, writing, "I heard that you're an actor!"

The pair went public with their relationship when they were photographed together on a date night in Los Angeles.
Barry made their relationship Instagram official by commenting on a video Sabrina shared of herself performing a duet with Taylor Swift onstage during her concert in Sydney, Australia. She had opened for the Grammy winner for weeks but was unable to perform her regular set before the show that day due to bad weather.
The actor would later go on to meet up with Sabrina during the tour.
The pair attended Vanity Fair's 2024 Oscars after-party together but did not walk the red carpet together.
They made their romance red carpet official two months later, at the 2024 Met Gala.
The singer celebrates her 25th birthday with Barry, friends and a Leonardo DiCaprio meme.
